What conditions does it treat?

The Secret PRO Refine treatment series improves some of the most visible signs of aging by reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, stretch marks, acne scars, and many other skin concerns. What is the treatment like?

Before the procedure, your provider will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area for increased comfort during the treatment. During the treatment, you may feel slight pressure and tingling while the micro-sized needles gently penetrate the skin and deliver heat to stimulate collagen production. The treatment is comfortable, and your provider will work with you to maintain your comfort level throughout the entire treatment. You can expect the treatment to take about 20 minutes.

Is there downtime after the treatment?

Typically, there is no downtime after the treatment. Your skin will have moderate redness after the treatment, which will subside significantly within a few hours. Your face will feel warm, like being in the sun, which also goes away within a few hours. You can expect to return to your normal activities immediately following your treatment. You may have some slight flushing the next day, which can be covered with make.

How many treatments will I need?

Patients typically need 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to achieve optimal results. Most patients report seeing improvement after the second treatment, but optimal results appear 3 months after the last treatment.

When will I see results?

Best results are seen 3 months after the last treatment. To maintain your results, maintenance treatments can be done every 12-18 months after the initial series.

What is the treatment like?

Before your treatment begins, a topical numbing cream will be applied to increase comfort. During the treatment, your provider will gently stamp the laser over the treatment area to create thousands of superficial microscopic perforations while leaving the surrounding tissue untouched. As the perforations heal, new cells appear, leaving your skin with a healthier and refreshed appearance. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes.

Is there downtime after the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, your skin will be pink, feel very warm, and sensitive to touch. Your provider will offer a topical skincare regimen following the treatment to optimize treatment results. The next day, you will notice a pattern forming over the treatment area from the microscopic perforations that will begin to scab and sluff off over the next few days. The exfoliation process typically lasts 3-4 days.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients will need 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. Your provider will create an ideal treatment plan customized for you, depending on your skin concerns. When will I see results? Secret PRO Ultra-Light is safe and effective on patients with fair to medium skin tones. It’s ideal for maintaining youthful-looking skin with a series of quick healing treatments.

Post Treatment Care (CO2 Laser)

Do not wash your face for at least 6-8 hours post-treatment
Wash and pat dry the skin gently twice day until the crusting naturally exfoliates/sloughs off
Apply a mild/non-fragrant moisturizing cream to the treatment area twice a day for 2 weeks or until the area is fully healed
A visible fine scab or crusting will develop 3 and 5 days after your treatment
– Do not remove it forcibly or scratch it
You may feel redness, dryness, swelling, and some pain for 2 to 3 days

Apply sunblock every 3 to 4 hours for a minimum of 2 weeks to a month after your procedure to help prevent UV-induced pigmentation

Do not wear a face masks until the fine scabbing/crusting has exfoliated or sloughed off (up to 5 days)
Avoid skin irritants (examples below) for 7-10 days after treatment
– Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, vitamin C/ascorbic acid, astringents, etc.

Avoid sauna and aggressive exercises for 1-2 weeks

Contraindications

A pacemaker or another implantable metal medical device
An unknown skin disease
Pregnant women
A piercing on the treatment area
Patients with a hemostatic disorder
Patients who are receiving treatment for skin cancer or have a history of cancer
Symptoms such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, or a rash on the treatment area
Having any type of suspected lesions on the treatment area
An immunosuppressive disease such as AIDS and HIV or any immune system disorder due to the use of immunosuppressants

Pre-Treatment Guidelines

Do not wear makeup on the day of treatment
Excess hair may need to be shaved. Men should be cleanly shaved
No sun-tanning or self-tanners 4 weeks prior to treatment
– Includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc.
Avoid skin irritants (examples below) a few days before and after treatment
– Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, vitamin C/ascorbic acid, astringents, etc.
Notify clinic with any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment
History of herpes or cold sores may require an anti-viral prescription prior to treatment

Post-Treatment Care (RF Microneedling)

Immediately post-treatment, apply gauze soaked in isotonic saline solution to the treatment area and let sit for 5-15 minutes
After saline solution soak, apply a post-procedure product if desired
Wait at least 4 hours before washing face or applying soap, cream or makeup to the treatment area
Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen to prevent further sun damage
Avoid heat – hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 1-2 days
Avoid skin irritants (examples below) a few days before and after treatment
– Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, vitamin C/ascorbic acid, astringents, etc.
Bruising, redness, swelling or a grid pattern may occur and resolve with time
– More aggressive treatments or use of irritants in the days prior to or after treatment can lead to longer downtime
